The radio modem is an essential device in RF solutions majorly used for the transfer of data across communication networks. Characteristics of the radio modem are; they are flexible, scalable and wireless, varied operating frequencies, reliability, high performance (dependent on sensitivity, antenna type and height, output power), and overall design amidst other parameters. Application of the radio modem is dependent on specific design. Most common uses are Private Radio Networks (PRN), fleet management, GPRS/GSM applications, utility distribution networks, and telemetry.
